Self-serve billing is being built. Until it ships, email us and we will set up an account on whichever plan fits — free while you are helping us find the rough edges. The free tier needs nothing from us at all: scan something and go.

Growth is free. Email us with a link to the repo. No form, no call.

Why overage costs more than your plan rate
Included scans work out at $5.80 per 1,000 on Starter, $3.56 on Growth and $2.49 on Agency. Overage is priced above each of those, which is deliberate: if extra scans were the cheapest ones we sold, the rational move would be to stay on the smallest plan forever and ride the overage. Upgrading should be the cheaper path, so it is.
You are never billed for a scan that could not run. A page that failed to load, a URL we refused, an internal error on our side — all recorded, none charged.
What counts as a scan
One URL, once. A batch of 50 URLs is 50 scans. Re-scanning the same URL is another scan. Polling for a result is not a scan — read the result as many times as you like.
Usage is tracked in an append-only ledger, and GET /v1/account shows both the
live counter and the ledger total so you can check our arithmetic at any time.
Common questions
Do I need a card for the free tier?
No. 500 scans a month, no card, no expiry.
What happens when I hit my quota?
On a paid plan, overage kicks in at the rate above. On Free, scans return
429 quota_exceeded until the period resets — nothing is charged and nothing is
silently billed.
Is there a self-hosted option?
Not today. axe-core is open source and free; if you want to run your own fleet of headless browsers, that is a legitimate choice and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. What you buy here is the fleet, the uptime, the integrations and the baseline machinery.
Does a paid plan make my site compliant?
No, and nobody's does. Automated testing covers a subset of WCAG. We sell detection and a gate, not compliance — here is exactly what that means.
